Howdy! My name is Manuel Salgado and I am a PhD student at Texas A&M University as well as a hobbyist photographer.
My research is currently focused on remote sensing of snow via unmanned aerial vehicles but also extends to hydrology, climatology, and atmospheric science. I have a BS from the University of New Mexico in Environmental Science. In addition to my research, I am also interested in advancing representation for minorities and women in academia.
I have been been photographing the world around me for approximately 5 years. My wife taught me the basics of exposure and composition on our outings to national parks and I've never looked back. Today I enjoy shooting landscapes, the night sky, and storms.
